About rebecca

Rebecca Bailey is the web content manager for Bon Appetit Group℠. Her journey to this acclaimed, local award-winning restauranteur unknowingly began just days after she turned 18, when she left her hometown of Titusville, Florida, to attend USF in Tampa. She graduated with her bachelor’s in Mass Communications and instead of moving back to Florida’s Space Coast she moved further west, ultimately trading beaches for…um, beaches. This was a great idea because now she gets paid to do fun things like writing blogs and newsletters, taking pictures, searching the web (somebody’s gotta do it) and using social media. Her love of anything that involves eating food and making food only makes this job even better. When she isn’t doing those fun things, she is usually planning her next state, national or amusement park trip.

We heard about a certain national chain’s mozzarella stick controversy. No controversy here; we pride ourselves on using only chef-selected ingredients. So you have no need to worry when you order our signature Panko-Crusted Feta (formerly known as Feta Alfresco) appetizer. There is plenty of real feta cheese inside the perfectly fried panko crust, and [...]

At Café Alfresco, we have one dessert selection that we change out every few months to keep things interesting and stay on trend. Our latest offering? Sea salt caramel cheesecake! The sweetness of salted caramel together with the tang of cheesecake make an inspired flavor combination, if we do say so ourselves (and we’ve had [...]

What’s crazy: we’re already one week into 2016. What’s crazier: we’re one week into 2016 and we already crossed one thing off our New Year’s resolutions list. So what did we accomplish this early into 2016? We switched to using local produce. When Chef Jacob began working at Café Alfresco, one of his main goals [...]

Make peace with beets this Christmas

By |2019-07-08T17:16:15+00:00December 22nd, 2015|Food|

Chef Jacob at Café Alfresco bistro in Dunedin, FL, has a history of spending Christmas Eve at his grandmother’s, where he and his family will eat typical holiday fare and a dish with beets. Wait, what?  Beets? Beets, as you may know, are as polarizing as cilantro. In fact, you may have even gagged at [...]

Last week, we had this colorful dish as our featured entrée. If you had blackened mahi mahi with butternut squash and roasted garlic puree with citrus salsa, chances are you raved over it (so many did). In fact, Chef Jacob said it was his most complimented featured entrée! So how was this delicious dish created? [...]

First, let’s get things straight. This might surprise you, but Café Alfresco in downtown Dunedin, Florida, is actually not an Italian restaurant. The name throws you off a bit, doesn’t it? There are Italian dishes on the menu, but there is so much more than Italian fare. The menu includes classic American cuisine with inspiration [...]
