With great year-round weather, sometimes we take the spring season for granted. Before we know it, Florida will be back into its hot summer temperatures, but until then, let’s soak up every second with these family-friendly spring events in Dunedin!

Art in the Park

Peruse the work of local artisans and creators this spring in the heart of Dunedin at Pioneer Park. Find unique items for your home and great gifts while supporting the local artist community. This relaxed family & pet-friendly event occurs twice: Sunday, March 31 or Sunday, April 14. Both events are from 10 am until 3 pm. In case you work up an appetite shopping (who doesn’t?), Café Alfresco is a mere block away.  Finish off your Sunday shopping with the best brunch in town (available from 9 am – 2pm) or order from our lunch and dinner menu (available all day).

Island Earth Days

Celebrate Earth Day at award-winning Honeymoon Island. Both fun and educational, this event features Live Animal and Bird of Prey presentations, nature exhibits, guided walks on the trails, live music, food and children’s activities! The event takes place April 13 & 14 from 11 am until 5 pm and is a great way to experience the real Florida.  Honeymoon Island is a State Park; the admission at the gate is $8 per vehicle (holding up to 8 people). Pets are welcome on a 6’ hand-held leash. For more information and full musical line-up, visit Islandparks.org.

Downtown Market

We can’t think of a better way to enjoy a weekend morning other than a trip to the Downtown Dunedin Market. A mix of local Tampa Bay vendors offering prepared food, fresh produce and hand-made products makes for a fun way to spend your Friday or Saturday.  If you live near the Pinellas Trail, we highly recommend riding your bike or taking a walk to the market so you won’t have to worry about parking. You’ll get to enjoy the day and experience even more. The Downtown Market is in Pioneer Park (across Douglas Ave. north of Café Alfresco) and runs every Friday and Saturday, from 9 am to 2pm, until June 1.  In June, the market is reduced to Saturdays from 9 am to 2pm. The market is seasonal and closes from July until November.

With the mixture of fun events plus Dunedin’s relaxed charm, we can’t think of a better place to enjoy the weekend. Whether you live locally or are visiting the area for the first time, there is always something new to discover around town. Hop in your car, or better yet, on your bike. We hope to see you soon!
